2019 is the year I decided to break out of my comfort zone as a UI designer and dive into front-end web development. I have working knowledge of HTML and CSS and have been doing HTML/CSS template for fun. It is now time for me to dive into JavaScript, to complete the front-end development essentials.
Making the start is easy. Learning it though, not really. I have zero experience with JavaScript before so it’s been a whole new level of challenge for me.
My go-to courses/book so far:
- JavaScript Essentials on Udemy
- W3Schools JavaScript tutorial
- JavaScript Basics on Treehouse (which I started last year actually)
- JavaScript & JQuery book by Jon Duckett
My employer have showed support and encourage me to get involve in some of the production work. It is scary, I’m not gonna lie. But I’m feeling excited at the same time, and it only makes me eager to learn more (and hopefully be fluent at it come the end of the year).
